Me: Nicholas Ramos (software engineer intern)

• Born in the U.S. - Puerto Rican heritage

• Spent most of my life in / near Chicago in Illinois

• Studied Mandarin Chinese in high school, enjoyed it a lot, was the first language I learned besides English (cannot speak Spanish haha)

  • I can speak a tiny bit of Cantonese, a southern Chinese dialect, as well, found it fun to learn about the different Chinese dialects and choose one to study a bit

• After a lot of research and uncertainty, decided to (try to) go to Tsinghua University in Beijing for university, studying Software Engineering

• After studying for 2 years, started working in blockchain while studying doing web development for about a year

• (now) Got an internship at Luminovo! (very excited about using Rust and Typescript)

Interests

• (Classical, Pop / Latin Pop) music
• Classical music composition (rarely)

Clarinet - I perform in the university’s Wind Symphony
